NATURE AND SCOPE
Under the authority of the Coordinator, Library Services, the Reference Librarian
provides research
assistance, collaborates with other Library staff in the development of information literacy activities
and the delivery of in-class workshops, and develops Library support services to meet digitizing and
archiving needs across the College.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides indepth academic reference services to students, faculty and staff
  • Supports the development of activities and tools to strengthen information literacy skills
and research methodologies

  • Offers workshops on the efficient use of the Library and its print and digital resources, on
academic integrity and plagiarism, and other relevant topics

  • Creates library guides, content bibliographies, and any other appropriate tools for users
  • Develops and implements Library support services to meet digitizing and archiving needs
across the College

  • Participates in the Library's projects as required, including collection development
and the exploration of new resources and technologies

  • Collaborates in the preparation and delivery of special events in the Library
  • Encourages and upholds an atmosphere of decorum in the Library

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from an ALAaccredited
institution

  • Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in an academic environment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of emerging trends, new technologies and advancements in
information services

  • Excellent computer literacy skills and knowledge of digital online resources
  • Excellent spoken and written English; working knowledge of French represents a strong
advantage
