About the Role:


Corus' Legal, Regulatory and Governance team is looking for a Corporate & Real Estate Law Clerk to assist our Real Estate & Corporate Legal teams.


You will contribute by:


  • Providing support on real estate transactions including leases, dispositions, licensing matters and normal course operations.
  • Complete all steps necessary to complete real estate transactions, including review of agreements and noting critical dates and deliverables.
  • Providing support on corporate and securities transactions including statements of work, amendments, terminations, NDA's and other ancillary agreements.
  • Narrowing issues for external counsel on real estate and corporate transactions.
  • Due diligence.
  • Assisting with board materials and corporate governance matters.
  • Maintaining and enhancing Corus' template and precedent library.
  • Effectively engaging and working with broad range of stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.

Skills and experience you bring:


  • Two to four years of related work experience in a law firm environment with experience in at least a few provinces.
  • Completion of a diploma in Law Clerk or a related discipline or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent in a real estate department, with complimentary experience in general corporate matters.
  • Experience with regulated entities an asset (for example, CRTC or similar).
  • Enhanced understanding of the regulatory environment for corporate records and filing requirements.
  • Membership in the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario an asset.
  • Exemplifies Corus values; fosters an inclusive working environment.
