    Founded in 1982, Bulk Barn is the biggest bulk food retailer in Canada, boasting close to 300 stores and continuously expanding. We are dedicated to nurturing a harmonious and adaptable environment that serves the best interests of both our clientele and team members.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with District Manager and store team to ensure adherence to:
      • Customer service standards, operational policies and procedures, and relevant provincial and federal regulations.
      • Lead the store alongside District Managers and Store Staff to accomplish:
      • Oversee the recruitment, training, and growth of the Store Team.

    All communications must be consistent across the store team.

    • Foster friendly and constructive customer interactions to promote repeat patronage, customer contentment, and increased sales.

    People Management:

    • Address performance discrepancies formally by implementing clear and documented performance enhancement strategies.
    • Manage the store team in compliance with operational, legal, and HR protocols.

    Work collaboratively with store staff to proactively tackle issues and escalate unresolved concerns to the District Manager for assistance.

    Ensure the store team upholds Company standards in their roles and are answerable for any lapses.

    • Engage with customers on the sales floor to grasp their preferences and behaviors.
    • Implement operational and HR policies consistently among all team members.
    • Utilize operational guidelines and reports effectively for daily store operations.
    • Gain insight into our business, competition, and strategic asset utilization in the market for sustained success.

    Quality Focus:

    • Establish high standards for exceptional customer service and enforce measurable accountability.
    • Ensure adherence to visual/merchandising standards and customer engagement culture.
    • Collaborate with the team to create a distinctive merchandising environment that captivates customers.

    Drive business triumph by leveraging internal reports, retail evaluations, and SMART Goals tailored to team skill enhancement, profitability, and customer satisfaction.

    Work with District Manager to set retail sales goals and execute actionable plans mirrored by measurable outcomes.

    • Manage labor and vacation schedules within budgeted models in collaboration with District Managers.
    • Ensure adequate staffing levels for the store's short and long-term success.

    Requirements:

    • 3-5 years' experience as a retail manager.
    • 3-5 years' retail background (Food Retail expertise a plus).
    • Solid grasp of business management principles.
    • Business or related post-secondary certificate preferred.
