North West Paving is looking to hire
an excavator operator for the 2024 season. We are a progressive, growing company that has operated in the Edmonton area for over 50 years. We provide excavation, gravel, asphalt, and concrete services to Municipalities, General Contractors, and Developers in our community and surrounding areas.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:_

Operate and drive equipment.
Removal of walks, curbs, and road cores.
Must have a comprehension of grades and surveys.
Must have experience fine grading.
Working in tight areas, around traffic, pedestrians, etc.
Oversee all aspects of vehicles, such as the condition of the equipment.
Perform pretrip inspection of vehicle systems and equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage.
Perform emergency roadside repairs.
Record information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in logbook or on onboard computer.
Communicate with dispatcher and other drivers using cellular phone.

Qualifications:

Must have minimum 2 years experience in the operation of excavation equipment and related work
Must have experience working in
road construction
Ability to work continuously for prolonged periods of time is required
Ability to work closely with a team
Must be available to work weekdays and weekends
Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license and have access to a reliable vehicle to commute to and from job sites

In order to fulfill all OH&S, COR, and Company Safety Program requirements, we require the participation of all employees, supervisors and foremen.

The following will be required of you:

Review, understand and follow all Safety Policies and Procedures
Follow OH&S guidelines
Participate in Hazard Assessments, Job site inspections, and Equipment Maintenance
Inspection, nearmiss or Accident-Incident forms.
Inform the Safety Manager of all Incidents, Accidents, Nearmisses, and Safety Infractions.
Participate in Safety Toolbox Talks
Implement Safety into all tasks related to your scope of work
Ensure proper use of PPE

Pay:
$26.00-$30.00 per hour
