POSTION SUMMARY:
The Building Maintenance Worker will work with the YWCA Maintenance Team, reporting to the Building Maintenance Manager, to assist with general maintenance of the YWCA building.
The successful individual will be provided with an introduction to electrical work as well as carpentry, plumbing, painting and drywalling.
POSITION REPORTING:
Reports to the Building Maintenance Manager
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5 hours per week
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Assist with small repairs, renovations, assembly and installations. This might require some heavy lifting of furniture, gym equipment, small motors, appliances, etc.
2) General maintenance including painting, filter replacements, and cleaning of work areas.
3) Assistance with electrical installations, plumbing and carpentry/drywall
4) Yard work including clean up of debris, grass cutting, minor landscaping and weeding
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Must be under the age of 30 as position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Grant
