As a Technical Architect you will play a key role in developing, recommending, implementing, and managing the technical architecture across our large, distributed cross-platform environment.

You will be responsible for defining the hardware, software, database, and communications solutions for specific applications, ensuring they align with business needs and industry best practices.

Responsibilities:
Develop, recommend, implement, and manage the technical architecture for applications in a large, distributed cross-platform environment.
Identify relevant information and determine development environments.
Provide leadership in the development and implementation of technical architectures.
Utilize extensive experience with multiple platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, and communications protocols.
Design processes around ITIL methodology and guide others in its use.
Translate business requirements into reporting needs.
Prepare conceptual, logical, and physical processes and data models.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends.

General Skills:
Leadership experience in technical architecture development.
Proficiency with multiple platforms, operating systems, databases, and communications protocols.
Experience with middle-ware, gateways, and performance considerations.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficient in structured methodologies for application design and development.
Ability to work collaboratively in a deadline-driven environment.

Desirable Skills:
Familiarity with Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes.
Knowledge of Enterprise Content Management (Open Text ECM applications).Understanding of Information Management principles and practices.
