What you'll do

As per IBEW Collective Agreement.
A Truck and Transport Vehicle Tradesperson is a Vehicle Tradesperson who has their Truck and Transport Vehicle

Mechanic certification with red seal and shall generally perform the duties of their trade in a safe and efficient manner.

These duties shall include the repair, maintenance, modification and commissioning of vehicles and equipment.

What you bring

As per IBEW Collective Agreement.
A British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) in Commercial Transport (or Truck & Transport) is required for this

position.

A British Columbia Certificate of Qualification (BCCQ) in commercial truck or heavy duty mechanics.
A valid B.C. driver's licence Class 3 with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain same.
Certification as a Commercial Vehicle Inspector is preferred.
Maintenance / repair and operational experience with digger derricks, cranes, material handling aerial devices and

personnel lifts is essential.

A British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) in Automotive Mechanics, or Heavy Duty Mechanic, the IBEW Wage Rate

is currently $41.94/hourly

A British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) in Commercial Transport or Truck & Transport, the IBEW Wage Rate is

currently $44.78/hourly

A British Columbia Certificate of Qualification (BCCQ) in commercial truck with UFM (Utility Fleet Mechanic) accreditation,

the IBEW Wage Rate is currently $46.61/hourly

This position will service vehicles at the Surrey Vehicle Garage and various locations, as required.
You may be required to rotate between shifts in accordance with Article 62.3A of the IBEW Collective Agreement. Shifts

are Day Shift: 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM; Afternoon Shift 4:00 PM to 12:00.

A Vehicle Tradesperson may be assisted by a Driver/Helper.
A written exam and a hands on test covering technical, safety, and administrative skills may form part of the selection

- process.

Applicants' written exam results will be kept on file for a 12 month period and reused for other MES selection processes

during that timeframe in which the same exam is utilized.- BC Hydro conducts pre-placement medical checks of applicants entering certain positions to help safeguard BC Hydro's

workplace. As part of the selection process, you may be required to demonstrate successful completion of a pre-placement
- medical check.- and any other relevant certifications.
