What you'll do
- As per IBEW Collective Agreement.
- A Truck and Transport Vehicle Tradesperson is a Vehicle Tradesperson who has their Truck and Transport Vehicle
Mechanic certification with red seal and shall generally perform the duties of their trade in a safe and efficient manner.
- These duties shall include the repair, maintenance, modification and commissioning of vehicles and equipment.
What you bring
- As per IBEW Collective Agreement.
- A British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) in Commercial Transport (or Truck & Transport) is required for this
- A British Columbia Certificate of Qualification (BCCQ) in commercial truck or heavy duty mechanics.
- A valid B.C. driver's licence Class 3 with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain same.
- Certification as a Commercial Vehicle Inspector is preferred.
- Maintenance / repair and operational experience with digger derricks, cranes, material handling aerial devices and

- A British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) in Automotive Mechanics, or Heavy Duty Mechanic, the IBEW Wage Rate
- A British Columbia Trades Qualification (BCTQ) in Commercial Transport or Truck & Transport, the IBEW Wage Rate is
- A British Columbia Certificate of Qualification (BCCQ) in commercial truck with UFM (Utility Fleet Mechanic) accreditation,
- This position will service vehicles at the Surrey Vehicle Garage and various locations, as required.
- You may be required to rotate between shifts in accordance with Article 62.3A of the IBEW Collective Agreement. Shifts
- A Vehicle Tradesperson may be assisted by a Driver/Helper.
- A written exam and a hands on test covering technical, safety, and administrative skills may form part of the selection
- process.
- Applicants' written exam results will be kept on file for a 12 month period and reused for other MES selection processes
workplace. As part of the selection process, you may be required to demonstrate successful completion of a pre-placement
- medical check.- and any other relevant certifications.
