Environmental Research.

Students work in an interdisciplinary team on a real-world research project involving problem definition, methodology development, social, ethical and environmental impact assessment, execution of the study, and dissemination of results to the research community and to the people affected.


Teaching Qualification Requirements:
Ph.
D. in Environment, Anthropology, Political Science, Sociology, Biology, Ecology, Geography or Natural Resource Sciences. Focus of degree, in any year, is contingent upon research projects and complementarity to the team's expertise. Other degrees may be considered depending on projects.


Demonstrated experience with interdisciplinary research projects involving problem definition, policy analysis techniques, impact assessment, methodology development, ethical research approval, project execution and dissemination of results to external stakeholders.

This is a multi-team taught capstone course. Experience will need to complement the team expertise and specific projects each year.


Reporting to the Director Bieler School of Environment, the course lecturer supervises research projects undertaken by students in a multi-team environment.

Provides project guidance and evaluates students on an individual and group basis; responds in a timely manner to academic requests from students and engages with co-instructors and external stakeholders.
