Position Summary:


The Supervisor's primary role is the development of our adult day programs which includes creating behavioural plans and individual program plans.

This will be accomplished by leading a dynamic team of Developmental Support Professionals in the implementation of the program and the individual plans and any modifications required for participant's success and growth.


Job Description Includes but is Not Limited to:

  • Commit to and demonstrate the mission, vision, values and policies of Active Lives Day Program through attitude, actions, leadership and behaviours.
  • Develop day programming that is adult oriented, diverse and includes opportunities for developmental growth in areas such as independence, self care, communication, fitness and leisure.
  • Complete a wide variety of behaviour assessments, observations and consultations with other clinical professionals involved with the participant's care
  • Write and evaluate behavioural plans and oversee staff to ensure proper implementation of plans and programs
  • Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure goals are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, and team member performance.
  • Create and maintain relationships with community partners and other related agencies.
  • Assist with preparation of budget and operating plans for the program.
  • Oversee weekly program schedules, including lesson plans and staff assignments for all activities, and ensure that employees understand their duties.
  • Recruit, hire and train new employees.
  • Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and coaching.
  • Prepare and submit performance reports.
  • Based on performance, make recommendations regarding compensation and promotion.
  • Maintain timekeeping and human resource records.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.
  • Sourcing opportunities for promoting the day program and recruiting new participants.
  • Complete participant intakes.
  • Ensure that all current grant parameters, reporting and documentation are followed and submitted on time.
  • Maintain confidentiality of participants and employees as per the policies and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all staff, participants, volunteers, and other support agencies.
  • Attend professional development events, as required.
  • Responsible for liaison with families, employees, senior management and other professionals.
  • Responsible for recruiting new clientele and promoting the organization.

Qualifications:


  • Current and Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check
  • Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or master's degree in social work, Psychology or Adult Education
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Postsecondary certificate in Behavioural scienceHuman or Health Services (Developmental Support Worker DSW) or equivalent work experience
- proven skills in the areas of Behavioural Assessments and Interventions, Service Coordination, ABA, and treatment planning

  • 2 years of managerial experience or supervisory role
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Valid G class driver's license preferred
  • Current Crisis Prevention Certification and Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Experience developing, implementing, and providing services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Experience demonstrating a person directed philosophy
  • Excellent management, problem solving, communication, interpersonal, and organization skills.
  • Experience managing problem behavior
