    About the Role

    With a strong dedication to providing excellent care to residents, families, and team members, the Health Care Aide plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional support within their defined responsibilities. This position involves assisting residents with daily activities, respecting their choices, upholding their dignity, and promoting their independence.

    What You Will Do

    • Resident-Centered Care: Ensures service excellence by meeting residents' needs as per care plans, policies, and procedures. Provides assistance with daily living activities while prioritizing privacy and respect.
    • Documentation: Maintains accurate and detailed records of care provided and communicates observations promptly to healthcare professionals. Monitors and documents residents' overall well-being, covering physical, psychological, spiritual, social, and emotional aspects.
    • Safety: Establishes a secure environment by adhering to safety protocols at all times. Demonstrates proficiency in resident and occupational safety, as well as emergency response procedures.
    • Pro-active Learner: Embodies the vision and values of Bethany by fostering caring communities.
    • Team Work: Collaborates effectively with colleagues as an integral part of the team. Participates in assessing and adjusting residents' care requirements alongside interdisciplinary team members.

    What You Bring

    • Completion of Grade 10 and possession of a valid Health Care Aide certificate approved by the Government of Alberta
    • Active registration in the Government of Alberta Health Care Aide Directory
    • Prior experience as a Health Care Aide is beneficial but not mandatory
    • Aptitude for thriving in a physically and mentally demanding setting
    • Proficiency in English language (speaking, listening, reading, and writing)
    • Strong skills in observation, communication, and problem-solving
