Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources the Human Resources Business Partner acts as a resource partner responsible for the implementation and ongoing coordination of human resources (HR) services in the areas of talent acquisition, labour and employee relations, performance management, compensation, attendance awareness, health and safety, disability management and policy development.- What will you do?Provide advice and guidance to people leaders in all areas of human resources to ensure that business processes and practices are consistent and aligned with organizational objectives while also providing full-cycle human resources support ranging from recruitment, benefits administration, talent management, collective agreement administration, wellness, health and safety.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provide advice and guidance adapted to client needs to address wide range HR matters involving talent acquisition, performance management, compensation, employee and labour relations, and workforce planning
  • Oversee occupational/nonoccupational disability management and accommodation and manage the disability process, acting as a liaison with our disability consultant, the manager, and the employee to work towards a safe return to work
  • Support policy, collective agreement, and procedure interpretation and implementation ensuring compliance with applicable legislation and regulations, and organizational goals
  • Provide coaching, counselling, guidance and resources with regards to performance management and attendance management
  • What must you have?
  • University degree in human resources, industrial relations, business administration or a related discipline;
  • Possession of or progression toward a certification with the Human Resources Professional Association (CHRP or CHRL);
  • A minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience in human resources advisory role in a unionized environment such as talent acquisition, people management and benefits administration;
  • Knowledge of human resources principles, best practices and relevant legislation including Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.;
  • Knowledge of a number of human resources functions such as recruitment, performance management, attendance support, labour relations, and health and safety;
  • Highly selfdirected with strong collaboration and conflict resolution skills;
  • Positive professional disposition, excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a superior customer service mindset;
  • Exceptional relationship building and facilitation skills to successfully coach, educate, negotiate and positively influence others to use effective human resources practices;
  • Ability to deal with highly confidential information, sensitive issues and emotional situations with discretion and sound judgement;
  • Excellent listening, reading comprehension, and critical thinking skills in order to interpret, assess the significance of, and retain information communicated verbally and in writing;
  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to be highly flexible and adaptable in order to balance multiple complex issues and competing priorities simultaneously;
  • Demonstrated proficiency with a variety of computer programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS);
  • Superior communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills to work with a variety of stakeholders and senior leaders across the health continuum;
  • Excellent negotiation, conflict resolution and consensus building skills;
  • Flexible, adaptable and responsive to change;
  • Selfdirected, selfdriven, selfmotivated with an ability to organize, plan, prioritize and multitask;
  • Demonstrated critical thinking with strong detail orientation;
  • Must have a valid driver's license as some travel may be required;
  • Advanced oral and written proficiency in English is essential;
  • Resultsdriven.
  • What would give you the edge?
  • CHRP, CHRL or CHRE Certification;
  • Experience in a unionized environment in a healthcare or public sector;
  • Strong knowledge of HCCSS priorities, policies, practices and service standards.
  • Ability to speak French or another second language.
