    Senior Advisor, Employee Listening

    As a key member of the Employee Listening team, the Senior Advisor will project manage, stakeholder manage and lead the execution of listening projects, roadmaps and strategies. The role ensures employee voice is captured and championed in support of a range of engagement, Winning Culture and business initiatives.

    Program Management

    The role provides project management oversight for large employee listening projects, including BMO's annual engagement survey. This includes calendarization, workback schedules, stakeholder mapping and engagement and communication with stakeholder groups like PPC PMs, HRBPs, COEs and businesses. Other key project deliverables include leading core and executive steering team meeting agendas, collaborating on strategic decisions, communications and support materials.

    Strategic Initiatives

    In addition, the role will lead strategic initiatives via the employee listening roadmap and by participating in prioritization and piloting of new capabilities and features, primarily based on the Qualtrics EX platform. The group collaborates closely on Winning Culture and employee experience initiatives.

    Consultation & Advisory

    The role collaborates with BMO colleagues and teams to support a range of smaller listening projects. This includes opportunities to work with COEs and businesses to translate their objectives into listening plans, jointly craft questionnaires and provide advice on how to engage key stakeholders and partners in Privacy, HR Data Governance and other PeCu functions.

    Measures of success include business outcomes and delivering projects on time and within quality standards. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills are required.

    Responsibilities

    Develops, manages and maintains designated HR listening program(s), analyzing program outcomes, providing insights and making recommendations for enhancements/changes as required. Ensures the effective and efficient execution of all program components, including ensuring change management and communications are in place for any enhancements/changes and mitigating any risk. Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
    • May act as Program Manager for business/group programs that impact multiple LOBs and/or BMO overall.
    • Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
    • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
    • Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
    • May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
    • Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives.
    • Assists in the development of strategic plans.
    • Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
    • Develops the business case by identifying needs, analysing potential options and assessing expected return on investment.
    • Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution.
    • Supports the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
    • Conducts independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
    • Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
    • Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
    • Collaborates across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behaviour.
    • Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels.
    • Leads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.
    • Plans and controls unit operating expenses in accordance with forecasts.
    • Develops and manages comprehensive information management systems; designs and/or leads initiatives to improve processes, analysis and reporting.
    • Oversees the design, development, and implementation of tools and training required to deliver business results.
    • Acts as the day to day contact for vendors; supports the implementation, maintenance, and sustainment of vendor solutions.
    • Leads/oversees the management of vendor relationships and provides guidelines for execution; ensures that all agreements are met as per requirements.
    • Leads/supports contract negotiations with vendors, balancing cost, risk and performance.
    • Supports the development of the program strategy ensuring that key goals are delivered and are aligned to overall BMO goals.
    • Develops solutions and makes recommendations based on an understanding of the business strategy and stakeholder needs.
    • Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of solutions.
    • Supports the management of the HR program, including developing program components, promoting the program and ensuring the execution of all program components.
    • Designs measurable sustainment strategies including assessing and recommending mitigations for industry/ segment-specific risks and prioritizing opportunities presented by internal and external stakeholders.
    • Investigates, analyzes, documents & mitigates program risks and advises any issues or concerns to senior leaders.
    • Understands the purpose of the program and ensures that stakeholder needs are understood and integrated into the development & management of the program.
    • Analyzes the impact and effectiveness of the program through periodic reviews of the programs and makes recommendations to improve processes, procedures and/or policy
    • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide program insights and recommendations.
    • Analyzes data and information to provide HR insights and recommendations.
    • Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
    • Monitors and tracks program performance, and addresses any issues.
    • Manages the change management for any enhancements / changes and ensures that appropriate plans are in place to execute effectively.
    • Tracks exception requests and corresponding approvals.
    • Participates in the management of vendor relationships; ensures regular reviews are in place, key performance indicators are monitored, service level agreements are met and service costs are kept within budget.
    • Oversees project activities to ensure deadlines are met and program solutions are delivered as scheduled.
    • Leads/participates in the design, implementation and management of core program processes.
    • Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
    • Participates in assigned strategic initiatives impacting the overall program, providing insight and analytical support.
    • Continuously monitor industry developments and continuously update programs to ensure they are competitive and effective.
    • Manage the budget associated with the program, in addition to service costs.
    • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
    • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
    • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.
    • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
    Qualifications:
    • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Program management skills - In-depth/Expert.
    • Demonstrated expertise in consumer or employee listening or market research is an asset
    • Qualtrics expertise is an asset.
    • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
    • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.
    • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.
    • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.
