Description

The Integrated Community Access Program is seeking a Psychometrist with training and experience providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy with adults who experience emotions dysregulation and borderline personality disorder.

This Psychometrist will be involved in all aspects of an adherent dialectical behaviour therapy outpatient program.

As a key member of the team, you will also provide clinical assessment, treatment, consultative and educational services to clients, families, community providers, referral sources and other community partners.

You will have formal training in DBT, previous individual and group psychotherapy experience and comfort working in person and virtually.


We are dedicated to promoting the safety and well-being of patients, employees, and visitors by raising awareness of the harmful impact of tobacco use and eliminating second-hand smoke exposure and triggers.

Tobacco, cannabis, and the use of electronic cigarettes (vaping) are not to be used or visible on Ontario Shores property, including parking lots and walking paths.

  • Qualifications Required and Preferred
  • Masters in Psychology, preferably counseling psychology
  • Be registered with the College of Psychotherapists
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OCSWSSW Standards of Practice and commitment to maintaining reflective practice standards as described by the OVSWSSW
  • Certification and practice in DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy)
  • Knowledge and experience working with "personality disordered" outpatient population is required
  • 35 years of recent psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service is desired
  • Community mental health service provision experience is required
  • Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups
  • Understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required
  • Experience with presentations is an asset.
  • Current CPR-HCP is required.
  • The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
  • Must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position
