Strategic Supply Program Manager - Calgary, Canada - Westpower
Description
We are looking for a high energy team player with great communication and organization skills that has direct experience with machine shops, foundries, fabrication shops all while working as a machinist, quality assurance inspector, operations manager, buyer, or project manager.
This individual will be results driven, can lead by example, solve problems, and facilitate projects.Day to day activities will center around - Sourcing of critical components & services (eg.
castings, machine shops), qualifying of new suppliers, meeting, and negotiating with suppliers (some out of town travel required), expediting, critical orders and establishing new business relationships, negotiating of supply agreements and assessment of supplier performance & general supply chain gaps.
Education, Skills and Experience
- Post-Secondary Education, preferably in business or equivalent experience in supply management, project management or production management.
- Minimum of five years of working in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of five years working as a machinist, buyer, project manager, operations manager, or in quality assurance.
- Must be selfstarter one that is able to operate in a fastpaced work environment with mÃnimal supervision.
- Critical, out of box thinker, one that can lead by example and drive solutions.
- Demonstrated negotiation, task management and customer service skills.
- Strong organization, communication, time management and multitasking skills
- Above average computer skills are a must (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with D365 (Microsoft Dynamics) would be considered an asset.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop programs to aid personnel in the sourcing of critical materials and services.
- Manage relations with strategic suppliers
- Lead and facilitate supplier meetings, including supplier site visits.
- Support supply chain and quality KPIs focused on
- Supplier qualification and supplier delivery performance.
- Champion resolution of supply chain issues with strategic suppliers.
- Complete required purchase orders and expediate critical items as required.
- Capture and publish supplier performance data.
- Lead continuous improvement supply chain initiatives.
- Support buyers and customer service reps as needed.
- Support operations as needed.
