Description

The Vocational Rehabilitation Services Department provides a full range of Supported Employment and Supported Education services through vocational/educational assessment, employment/academic counselling, skills training, adult literacy, supporting college preparation courses and education upgrading services, work readiness programs, job development and job coaching services within a recovery oriented team environment.

Qualifications Required and Preferred
Post-Secondary Degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Adult Education or related field required
Registration with the College of Vocational Professionals (CVRP), Vocational Rehabilitation Association of Canada (VRA) or another professional college is preferred.
Min 2 years Vocational experience specifically working with persons afflicted with mental health/addictions issues or barriers to education/employment (preferably in a hospital setting)
Strong knowledge and commitment to the principles of Recovery, Individual Support and Placement model and evidence based practices of Supported Employment and Supported Education
Knowledge of the Ontario Disability Support Program
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work within an interdisciplinary team
Strong knowledge of assessment, employment planning, education systems and accommodation, current labour market trends, job development and job coaching

Current CPR

HCP and valid driver's license is required
Meditech experience an asset
Valid driver's license
