Location:
Brampton, ON


Job purpose

This position is responsible for managing the internal freight rate quotation process, accruing freight and approving freight invoices, performing freight rate analysis and providing purchasing support to the Supply Chain & Customer service group of IMCD Canada Ltd and IMCD US Food Inc.


Duties and responsibilities
Maintains the relationship between IMCD and its contracted freight consultants, including Odyssey
Manages internal freight quotation requests and follows up on all communications from internal and external customers
Approves or rejects freight invoices prior to payment by the IMCD Accounts Payable staff. This involves investigating charges to determine approval or rejection and if a claim needs to be filed for additional charges
Make accruals for freight charges in ERP system and validate carrier invoices Vs quoted
Support WMS team for logistics functions (Carrier Setup etc)
Manages NCR (Non-Conformance Report), carrier claims records corporately and filing claims against carriers
Shipment tracking & tracing
Providing support services to the Supply Chain group as directed, including arranging shipments with carriers, following up with the pickups, tracking and tracing, updating the statuses and freight cost in the ERP system
Ensures all freight carriers are compliant on communications with regards to any delays on pick-up from principals, in transit, as well as delivery to our 3PL WH or DC, especially the Direct PO to our customers
Other tasks as assigned by the manager


Qualifications/Competencies

Required:
Minimum of five years working in logistics or supply chain
Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
Superior interpersonal skills
College or university degree
Knowledge and experience working in the US transportation industry


Considered an asset:
A post-secondary technical or business administration diploma with components including logistics and supply chain management is preferred
Knowledge or experience in the chemical industry
Experience in the management of customs
