Position Summary


Chrysalis is a registered non-profit organization that offers personalized services designed to meet the needs of people with disabilities while providing meaningful opportunities for growth and community inclusion.


Reporting directly to the Manager of Fund Development and Communications, The Marketing and Communications Coordinator will work collaboratively to promote Chrysalis' programs, services, and social enterprises; build relationships with key stakeholders; and support internal communication practices for both our Edmonton and Calgary locations.


Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Create and implement marketing and social media strategies
  • Independently manage Chrysalis' social media platforms ( Facebook, Instagram,
LinkedIn, YouTube) and provide recommendations for new platforms

  • Maintain a working knowledge of the social media space, including trends and new/emerging social platforms
  • Create digital campaigns to raise awareness of Chrysalis Society and Chrysalis Social
Enterprises

  • Develop/contribute to internal and external communications materials such as brochures, monthly communications to Chrysalis stakeholders, job advertisements, annual reports, templates, promotional materials, etc.
  • Write and send Chrysalis monthly newsletter
  • Participate in, support, and promote all Chrysalis events. Some event setup and planning is required
  • Report on monthly analytics
  • Maintain oversight on stakeholder distribution lists ensuring information is accurate and uptodate
  • Visit employment/community sites as required for marketing purposes
  • Create and monitor Google Ad campaigns
  • Monitor the Chrysalis website and make content changes as needed
  • Build and maintain positive, professional, and collaborative working relationships with
Chrysalis persons accessing services, their personal support network, community partners, and colleagues

  • Act as an ambassador and representative of Chrysalis at events and in the community

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in a related field (eg. communications, marketing, public relations, etc.)
  • 2 years of related work experience in a similar role
  • Experience working in a nonprofit or with people with disabilities is considered an asset
  • Experience with Google Ads
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress
  • Knowledge of the Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Acrobat) is considered an asset
  • Clearance from a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search
  • Able to sit in front of a computer screen for long hours at a time
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends
  • Access to a reliable vehicle
