- Own and document requirements for Wavelogic modem analog coherent receiver hardware elements, including silicon photonic electro-optic functions, BiCMOS/CMOS amplifiers, and the physical realization of the receiver chain including digital control and transitions between the elements.
- Own the concatenated Rx OE modem subsystem RF response and coordinate/allocate subcomponent RF requirements.
- Collaborate with internal and external electro-optic component suppliers to define component specifications and the required performance characterization/verification against the specifications.
- Work within an interdisciplinary modem integration team consisting of systems, test, ADC, DSP, PCB, firmware, production, and product engineers.
- Work with factory component and modem test engineers to optimize existing test methods and design new methods.
- Interpret wafer, device, and modem factory test data to identify problems and help devise solutions.
- Provide mentorship for testing prototypes in the lab to validate designs.

- Ability to navigate PCB schematic and layout tools.
- Some experience with digital control systems.

How You Will Contribute:
As an Electro-optics Hardware Designer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering high-speed electro-optics components for the receiver optical-to-electrical (Rx OE) modem subsystem in Ciena's coherent Wavelogic products.
