Overview:

As a Development Tester at Alpha Channel Inc., you'll help ensure the quality of our game and smooth development by finding and tracking bugs, validating fixes, tracking down tricky problems and providing feedback on the overall user experience.

You'll need to approach the game with a fresh perspective each time, to play in creative ways and to work closely with the development team to understand our features, game design and world inside and out

What you will do:

Play the game every day to provide feedback on new changes, identify bugs, or to validate that previous fixes were successful
Log in detailed and accurate bug reports, including screenshots, videos and/or logs where necessary
Work handinhand with the development team to track down underlying problems and test out possible fixes
Offer regular feedback on accessibility and user experience issues, supplementing with supporting elements like such as mockups or videos to illustrate problems effectively
Compile clear build or release notes and document known issues when we need to share builds externally
Research and understand external requirements such as platform compliance, legal considerations or and accessibility standards
Participate in design and team meetings to develop an expertise and gain an understanding of the full game vision, features and world
Keep documentation up to date

What we're looking for from you:

Prior experience as a game tester or in a similar role, specifically
Understanding of 3D game development processes, roles and responsibilities.
Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
Passion for games and a keen interest in game development.
Experience working with Jira or a similar bug and task tracking software
Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 or
Experience or interest in other areas of production, for instance game or level design, creative writing or programming.

The recruitment process:

Screening call:
first you will meet with a member of the Talent Acquisition team.

This isn't an interview, but a chance to get to know you better, and in turn share more about Alpha Channel and the opportunity.

First Interview**:
next you will meet with the hiring team, where we will focus on understanding your previous experience, whilst offering you the opportunity to ask any questions you might have about the role

Second Interview:
finally you will meet with Bane and Dan, Alpha Channels founders, for a coffee style chat.

The purpose of this conversation is to enable you to get a better feel for life at Alpha Channel to ensure this is an environment you feel you could succeed in and positively contribute to.
