    Description

    ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

    Foremost has an opening for an Electrical Engineer, based out of our design/manufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta. As a talented member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for overcoming challenging design projects that result in best-in-class products, destined for some of the harshest operating conditions on earth.

    Accountabilities:


    • Develop low and high voltage electrical and PLC/HMI designs


    • Create/Review/Approve electrical documents (such as specifications, calculations, datasheets, schematics) that satisfy compliance and performance requirements


    • Manage engineering documentation using sound project principles


    • Specify components


    • Provide support to quality, sales, production, publications, part sales and field service


    • Troubleshooting and Commissioning as required


    • Project scheduling and estimating as required


    • Participate in the development of procedures and policy as required


    • Participate in electrical design reviews, both internal and external


    • Check work of others for accuracy and compliance


    • Supervision and Mentoring, as required


    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:


    • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in good standing with APEGA


    • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.


    • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills


    • 5-10 years of experience designing both low and high-voltage electrical systems (mobile drilling equipment preferred)


    • Ability to work effectively in either a team setting or as an individual contributor


    • Ability to communicate effectively in English with internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing


    • Prior experience with HMI design and Parker IQAN (or equivalent)


    • Prior experience creating/maintaining electrical schematics in AutoCAD


    • Prior field experience troubleshooting/commissioning electrical equipment


    • Ability to travel internationally as required


    • Expert knowledge of electrical systems, and relevant industry standards


    • Mechanical design experience is considered an asset


    • 3D CAD experience is considered an asset


    • Knowledge of hydraulics is considered an asset
