Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for the delivery of services in both the Direct Accountability Program (DAP) and Community Service Order Program (CSO)
Key Responsibilities - Direct Accountability Program
- Prepare monthly reports for the board and the ministry of correctional services data
- Ensure all intake documentation is completed, recorded and filed
- Monitor the integrity of case notes, record keeping and statistical data
- Coordinate delivery of services with other partner agencies and other John Howard Society programs
- Establish an effective communication process with the Crown Attorney's Office as well as with community resources and volunteer placements
- Attend Thunder Bay First Appearance courts to accept referrals from the Crown
- Ensure established protocols with Crown are being followed
- Ensure the implementation of all program forms
- Be responsible for informing the Crown Attorney for default of court conditions and preparation of breach reports as well as attending court (if necessary)
- Develop sufficient, suitable and varied placements for the clients in the program
- Coordinate placements of individual ordered by the court to perform volunteer hours
- Ensure communication and effective partnerships with Volunteer Placements and provide appropriate referrals for volunteer placements
- Confirm the payment of charitable donation amounts by clients; assist in the confirmation and collection of restitution from the client and forward the restitution to the victim(s)
- Facilitate Anger Management, Substance Use, and Anti-Theft programming for referred clients
- Monitor and document the ongoing progress of clients on a regular basis
- Develop a case plan for each client and encourage use of community resources for assistance, where appropriate
- Prepare comprehensive reports for court outlining Direct Accountability case plans as required

- Monitor and document the ongoing progress of the clients on a regular basis
- Develop a case plan for each client and encourage use of community resources for assistance, where appropriate
- Develop sufficient, suitable and varied placements for the clients in the program
- Report and record all program statistical data
- Be responsible for informing probation/parole services for default of community service order conditions and preparation of breach reports as well as attending court
- Communicate regularly with Probation and Parole, and partner agencies
- Maintain positive working relationships and collaborate with other community agencies and services
