Working for the Department
Food Services Department at University of Alberta, Augustana Campus in Camrose, AB. As part of Campus Service, we work together with Occupancy and Residence to support students living in on-campus housing.


Position Summary


Reporting to the Operations Manager Augustana Dining And Conference, the Executive Chef provides leadership and direction in the operation of a high quality food service program that meets the needs of students living on campus.

Commitment to strong customer service and the ability to bring positive influence is key.

We are a diverse and inclusive campus that provides service to all students that live on and off campus as well as customers through our Dining Hall, Café, Catering and Conference Services.


Duties

  • Assists with supervision, scheduling and evaluating 20 full time and a complement of causal Food Service Staff
  • Evaluate the outcomes for the day and delegate staff accordingly
  • Ensure staff have a balances opportunity in food preparation for all areas of the kitchen
  • Develop innovative menus
  • Preparing food and supply orders
  • Ensure the quality of the food prepared in appropriate amounts
  • Provide ongoing direction regarding safe food handling
  • Work with students to meet their special dietary needs
  • Ensure equipment is functioning well and maintained

Minimum Qualifications

  • Red Seal Chef required
  • 12 to 18 months of experience in cooking for large groups and banquets
  • Supervisory experience
  • Ability to inspire in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of University of Alberta administrative structure would be an asset
  • Welldeveloped experience, good judgement and creative problem solving
  • A serviceorientated philosophy with sensitivity to and respect for all students
