    Our team and what we'll accomplish together:

    Our TELUS Data Strategy and Innovation team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technical Professional to join our dynamic team. This is a new role within our organization, and the first of its kind on our team. You will play a crucial role in working hand in hand with our team of Data Engineers, Data Management professionals, Software Developers and Data Scientists to support our teams' deliverables of unlocking exceptional business value through asset creation & management, API/Application ownership and a commitment to data integrity.

    What you'll do:

    In this role you will be responsible for pulling on two parts of your data profile. We will look to you to not only query solutions and build data assets, but also to represent our team and business interests as we strive towards achieving innovative milestones through our projects. This role is unique. 80% of your time will be spent working through data needs, building solutions and answering requests from the business. The remaining 20% of your time will be spent driving our projects forward, negotiating and collaborating with our fellow TELUS team members to achieve successful project outcomes.

    Our team owns the responsibility of asset maintenance and identification of new assets/variables leveraging both internal and external data sources. We also build and manage Application and APIs to ensure that regardless of the format needed, our business is able to get what they need to unlock their vision and achieve success.

    Your role will closely collaborate with our organization's team members to ensure that all assets and processes are created and maintained in a way that honors our commitment to Privacy and adheres to the existing TELUS corporate cloud parameters. You will work with your peers to design and implement solutions that meet the needs of the impacted business and navigate our internal governance processes, driving your work from ideation to implantation. You will own your data assets end to end, representing our team and your work in meetings with leadership and stakeholders as needed.

  • Design, develop, and maintain big data assets that drive business value
  • Leverage data science methodologies in order to identify new variables and unlock values hidden within the raw data
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine project requirements, translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions, and manage the project to ensure optimal desired outcome
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure required for data preprocessing, feature engineering, model training, and evaluation
  • Monitor and optimize performance of team solutions and cloud environment
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in your field
  • The successful candidate will be able to ask questions confidently, collaborate with cross-functional teams and be responsible for managing our organizational and team projects end to end, from requirements gathering to successful delivery

    • Qualifications

    What you bring:

  • 3-5 years experience in Data Management or relevant field
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as SQL, Python, Java, C++ etc
  • Experience with ML frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as GCP (preferred), AWS, Azure
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes
  • Experience with version control systems (, Git) and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience managing big data and creating new data variables
  • Experience with successful Project Management and/or Agile methodologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • You are a TEAM PLAYER: Excellent communication, Excellent reading/writing/listening comprehension and collaboration abilities

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering
