The Role:
The Construction Technician is responsible for assessing deficiencies, completing repairs in a timely manner and adhering to construction timelines, drive deficiency clean-up of various construction checklists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete small outstanding construction repairs at various stages of rough frame construction
- Perform pre city inspection frame check deficiencies list.
- Perform pre city inspection & pre hand off sweep and exterior clean of each lot.
- Complete fire caulking understands a check décor sketch, knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and electrical completions.
- Complete carpentry repairs that may include straightening bowed walls, floor, or stair squeaks.
- Perform minor concrete repairs including breaking up concrete, repairing small concrete patches in basement floors.
- Hang Lot information on 2nd floor window at front of house.
- Prepare house for various City inspections and Rough builder to home building hand off.
- Work closely with labourer and play leadership role when labour is needed.
- Perform the installation of yellow boots and safety rails.
- Perform any other duties as required.
You will bring:
- A minimum of 13 years of relevant work experience, with previous experience in low rise residential construction
- Knowledge of and demonstrated proficiency in carpentry.
- Knowledge of various framing tools and equipment.
- Comfortable in the use of technology smartphones, tablets, or computers to record, review and communicate information.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic arithmetic skills, for example, in taking measurements, is essential.
- Flexible to move to different projects and jobs
- Attention to detail
- Strong work ethic ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must have a valid driver's license, and regular access to a vehicle
- Must have own hand tools and tool belt.
