Used by banks, credit unions, money services businesses (MSBs), casinos and fintechs to comply with global anti-money laundering (AML) regulations, Alessa also serves organizations in the retail, healthcare, insurance and other corporate sectors with its continuous controls monitoring and fraud detection and prevention capabilities.

Alessa was acquired from Caseware in 2021 and has 75 people supporting 150 global customers. Alessa's investors are led by Wavecrest Growth Partners with participation from MassMutual Ventures and Salesforce Ventures.

Alessa is currently seeking a
Business Development Representative, to join our team in Ottawa. Reporting to the Business Development Representative Team Lead, you will be challenged to think and most importantly to act.

You will work independently as well as with Alessa's Sales & Marketing Teams to develop sales campaigns and execute on them to uncover opportunities.


Responsibilities:


  • Meeting and exceeding a weekly and monthly quota of outbound sales calls and number of qualified appointments booked with prospects in the Financial Institution, Gaming and FinTech industries.
  • Assisting in the development of a strong pipeline of new business opportunities through direct and/or indirect customer contact and prospecting.
  • Developing, cultivating, sourcing, and mining leads lists within assigned territory.
  • Qualifying and nurturing inbound leads.
  • Identifying and nurturing strategic relationships with partners and/or potential customers.
  • Working closely with marketing to implement business development initiatives.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely tracking of customer details, lead generation and performance through Salesforce.
  • Strategic follow up on leads and tracking activity using Salesforce.
  • Providing accurate management updates on key metrics and lead generation activities.

Requirements:


  • Recent graduate with a degree or concentration preferably in Finance and/or Business.
  • Experience dealing with customers, in person and/or over the phone.
  • The ability to understand, position and articulate the value and/or compelling benefits of business solutions.
  • Professional and exceptional oral and written communication skills as you will be dealing with customers at the Manager, Director and VP level and collaborating with clients and partners.
  • Technology savvy including Salesforce, LinkedIn, and MS Office.
  • Demonstrated work ethic, growth mindset and positive attitude.
  • Selfmotivated who enjoys working in a collaborative teamoriented environment.
  • Experience and/or knowledge in Risk & Compliance offering and SaaS a plus
