Job Summary


Assist the VP Human Resources & Compliance as well as the HR Manager with the coordination of human resource management activities of the organization to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee compensation, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance including related reporting requirements.


This role will work closely with the Field Recruiter(s) and Operations teams to enable an employee-oriented, high performance culture emphasizing: empowerment, quality, productivity and the ongoing development of a superior workforce.


Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Ensure annual performance reviews are conducted and provide leadership coaching on management performance concerns
  • Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, and opportunities for promotion and employee benefits
  • Perform difficult staffing duties, including dealing with disputes, release of employees, and administering disciplinary actions and procedures
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives
  • Assist employees by addressing inquiries and helping resolve workrelated issues
  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnelrelated data such as hires, transfers, performance reviews, and other reporting needs as required
  • Compile metrics and analytical data in a comprehensive format for ESG reporting requirements
  • Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employee termination
  • Develop and/or administer special projects in areas such as annual performance review programs, employee long term services awards, employee birthdays, etc.
  • Provide terminated employees with outplacement or relocation assistance as required
  • Ensure legal compliance of HR provincial and federal regulations and all applicable employment laws, and update policies and/or procedures as required
  • Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new hire orientation, and exit interviews, including entering data into HR information systems and auditing for accuracy and compliance
  • Provide support on various HR projects as needed

Minimum Requirements

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems
  • Knowledge of applicable Provincial and Federal human resources legislation as well as policies, procedures, and practices for Canada
  • Ability to work independently with mínimal support and supervision
  • Sound knowledge of Human Resources functionality in all areas, particularly Policy Development, People Management and Recruitment
  • Possession of the discipline and tact for difficult conversations
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to prepare and compile meaningful data metrics for analysis and reporting requirements
  • Effective time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • 5 7 years of relevant Human Resources work experience
  • Previous Oil & Gas, Industrial, or Construction industry experience considered an asset
  • Ability to multitask multiple projects and priorities, work under pressure and meet varied deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Must be able to pass preemployment drug and alcohol testing including marijuana
