Description
This position contributes to the overall organization by bidding on various types of work and handing over successful bids to the project team.
This role primarily interacts with the estimating team, and Project Coordinators with the goal of project pursuit and acquisition.Coordination and communication with the operations staff is key to ensure feedback from ongoing projects and input for creating estimates.
Contact with clients, subcontractors, and vendors will also be required and the utmost professionalism is expected during these interactions. Work within the framework of Hall's estimating and project management guidelines and best practices.# Manage all takeoffs for the estimate, including assigned Intern or Project Coordinator.
# Read and understand contract documents and specifications.
# Collaborate with other estimators and project coordinators to deliver a competitive bid.
# Communicate with clients and sub-contractors about the estimate frequently throughout the process.
# Attend all Estimator's meetings and on/off-site bid meetings.
# You have the following qualifications, technical and interpersonal skills:
Education:
Post Secondary Education or applicable work experience
Considered an asset:
Past local civil construction experience, AutoCAD experience, BC Class 5 driver's license
Technical Skills:
Programs/Software – HeavyBid and Heavy Job (HCSS)
Proficient in spoken and written English.
Proficient in Excel, Word, Project, MS Teams, etc.
Excellent written and verbal English communication.
Team building and social events.
Training, development and mentorship opportunities.
