We are in search of a passionate paralegal, adept at navigating tight deadlines, and eager to foster personal growth within a vibrant and multidisciplinary team.


Your role:

Contract Management: Assist in developing, updating, and organizing legal documentation related to financial transactions within the context of financial markets, and overseeing the execution and archiving of finalized agreements.

Transaction Administration: Ensure seamless coordination of transactional activities with internal legal counsel, the front office ("traders"), clients, and the Operations team from inception to completion.

Legal Documentation: Proactively assist internal legal counsel in drafting and negotiating legal agreements as well as making sure that such agreements comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Legal and Regulatory Oversight: Stay abreast of legal and regulatory developments and contribute to aligning all financial market activities with such developments.

Efficiency Optimization:Actively seek and implement opportunities to streamline processes, enhance workflow efficiency, and improve overall operational effectiveness within the legal department.

Due Diligence:Conduct research related to legal matters, perform document verification, and assist in due diligence processes related to financial market transactions.

Record Keeping:Maintain organized and up-to-date records of legal documents, contracts, and related correspondence, generate reports for senior management statistics and conduct data entry and verification.


Your team:


As part of the Capital Markets and Treasury Risk Management sector, our team comprises six lawyers and a technical advisor.

Operating across Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, New York, Dublin, London, and Hong Kong, we negotiate and manage key transactional financial contracts with the Bank's clients globally.

Prerequisites:


  • College degree in paralegal studies
  • Experience in commercial finance, secured transactions or corporate law
  • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Demonstrate autonomy, rigor, and method in your work.
  • Exhibit strong teamwork skills.
