    Summary

    Provides indirect supervision to subordinate managers and employees performing diverse roles within large sites. Accountable for projects or programs on a multi-functional, national, or regional basis. Work is guided by broad site objectives and corporate policy. Work requires developing solutions, precedents, and/or policies. Builds cross-functional relationships where persuasive skills, negotiation skills, and considerable tact are required to gain support. Interacts regularly with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions and/or customers.     Detailed Description

  • Understand and participate in the development and deployment of Supply Chain and materials strategies. Lead roll out of Demand Management in Rapid Response.
  • Drive and lead Global Advanced Planning Strategies to maximize inventory usage and improve customer service level (such as Demand Alignment, Statistical Analysis, Safety Stock, etc). Lead Site teams in Adv Planning Best Practices (MPS Level Load)
  • Drive site teams in improvement of Forecast Accuracy and Attainment, providing guidance and coaching.
  • Collaborate with Operations Team to develop Advanced Planning solutions that improve Celestica's performance and service levels to meet the customer's needs.
  • Effectively present Celestica Planning processes initiatives and strengths to the customer.
  • Lead and provide strategic direction to the materials team in the GCBU. Drive teams to reduce Inventory, Improve throughput and Delivery Performance.

    • Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of global supply chain management, distribution methods, and global transportation services and inventory management.
  • Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, materials and processes.
  • Good understanding of IT concepts and integrated business applications.
  • ERP System Logic Understanding
  • Expert Level Rapid Response Knowledge- Authoring Certification Preferred
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem resolution skills.

    • Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.

    • Typical Experience

    Five to eight years related experience

    Typical Education

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Materials Logistics Management, or related discipline, or an equivalent proven track record in an EMS or similar environment;

    A solid understanding of electronics manufacturing and materials planning is required. Domestic and international travel is required.
