EDUCATION:


  • A secondary school diploma or employerapproved alternatives.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Experience in managing human and financial resources.
  • Experience in at least three (3) categories of the real property and environment domain, listed below:
a. Real Property Policies

b. Real Property Transactions

c. Strategic Portfolio Planning

d. Strategic Land Use Planning

e. Owner/Investor

f. Facility Management

g. Facility Operations

h. Facility Maintenance

i. Accommodations planning

j. Accommodations management

k. Real property project management

l. Environmental Management

m. Greening Operations

  • Experience in providing strategic advice (reports, presentations, and briefing notes) to senior management within the real property and environment domain, listed above.
  • Experience facilitating effective engagement and coordination among different stakeholders during the planning process.
  • Experience conducting research, which could include collecting, extracting analyzing and interpreting information or large data set from multiple sources.
  • Experience in planning and/or implementing, and/or administering policy initiatives, programs, or projects related to real property and environment domain, listed above.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS /

EDUCATION:


  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized university or college with acceptable specialization in a field relevant to the duties of the position such as business administration, commerce, urban planning, engineering, or architecture. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized postsecondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
  • Certification or training from a recognized real property association such as IFMA, BOMA, AAIC, REIC, or other.
Degree equivalency

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS /

EXPERIENCE:


  • Experience in developing Building Management Plans and commissioning supporting studies such as Building Condition Reports and Investigation and Analysis Reports.
  • Experience in real property analysis and asset benchmarking in support of broad portfolio management objectives.
  • Experience in life cycle management and/or real estate investment analysis (e.g. valuation, revenue forecasts, rate of return, asset benchmarking/performance measurement).
  • Experience in working at a science or research facility.

  • Knowledge of the legislation, regulations and policies of the federal government pertaining to real property management including Canada Labour Code, health and safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Knowledge of real property management trends and recent developments.
  • Knowledge real property project management, risk management, and project leadership practices.
