Research Grants Officer to join our Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR) team.

Job Information and Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, the Research Grants Officer will:

  • Investigate, communicate and promote sources of funding information and opportunities.
  • Formulate answers to research related queries from faculty, administration and students by contacting external granting agencies, University offices and Senior Administration.
  • Interpret and implement both internal and external research grant policies and procedures for faculty, administration and students.
  • Assure that grant budget requests meet the appropriate guidelines and that the University has the facilities to carry out the research or that the researcher has addressed this issue.
  • Register research grants in the FGSR database.
  • Synthesize research grant information and generates reports on research productivity.
  • Meet with government granting agency representatives to investigate opportunities and ensure an understanding of requirements.
  • Provide full secretariat services to two FGSR committees (Research and Graduate Awards) including scheduling meetings and taking/disseminating meeting minutes.

Experience and Education Requirements
To be the successful Research Grants Officer you will have:

  • Master's degree with a concentration in either Arts or Science with at least one year of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of academic research environment.
  • Working knowledge of grant opportunities as well as policies and procedures.
  • Excellent oral and written communications.
