Production Manager - Delta, BC, Canada - Golden West Baking Company ULC
Description
The Production Manager is responsible for managing and guiding Production Supervisors at Golden West Bakery Co., ensuring the communication flow between the different teams and promoting a positive work environment, as well as managing the production schedule in the facility, optimizing plan capacity and enduring fulfillment of the customers' orders. This position is also accountable for safety, working together with the Safety Specialist and the various teams within the company to implement and maintain a strong safety culture as well as to establish prevention safety measurements to all employees and for people management, working in partnership with the HR department to ensure the company's policies to be followed and that the feedback and communication are strengthened.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Plan and ensure production schedules are meet with instruction documents for all product requirements in a timely manner with considerations to; balancing shift hours, product testing (R&D), product launch targets, cycle of raw materials and packaging inventory levels, storage capacity of the plant, preventive maintenance activities.
· Develop and implement capabilities in practical application of continuous improvement tools and methods, mentoring others in leadership of improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma) and promote a structured problem-solving approach engaging the team.
· Work with supply chain team members on raw material & packaging requirements to fulfill production demands and sales order deadlines
· Ensure SAP compliance (verify process orders daily, cogi clean up and finish good inventory adjustment)
· Participate in month end and year end inventory count and adjustment
· Conduct quarterly SAP self audit and implement correction plan if needs
· Work with Maintenance to support the management and evaluation of equipment reliability to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.
· Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on timeliness and execution of the production plan to meet order requirements and mitigate production delays or shortages.
· Communicate with different Team Leaders with a focus on providing professional development and work-related performance feedback.
· Ensure goals are met for key performance indicators of operations including quality, service, safety and cost. Share operations goals and guidelines for achieving the goals with the Production Supervisors
· Ensure that the communication with the HR department and payroll runs smoothly and in a timely manner, attending and actively participating the weekly staffing meetings and making sure the Supervisors do the same as well as consistently complete the activities related with people management such as timesheet approvals and job requisitions.
· Participate in engagement activities and make sure the supervisors do the same, promoting and nurturing a positive relationship with team members and other departments.
· Must be open to receiving performance feedback and be able to react to the feedback in a positive manner
· Partner with HR, Safety, Maintenance and Quality to ensure requirements are met.
