YOUR ROLE


We are looking for a
Supervisor, Health & Dental Claims to join our close-knit team and we hope our search ends now, with you.

This role has a
hybrid work arrangement, required to work on site in our
Etobicoke office with flexibility to work from home a few days a week.


Reporting directly to the Director of Health & Dental Claims, the incumbent is focused on the development of a high performing team to achieve department productivity and quality targets to meet customer service expectations.


YOUR IMPACT

  • You will coach, guide, set clear expectations and fill training gaps so that claim issue ownership does not move above the optimum level.
  • You will develop a team of claims professionals to proficiently process extended health and dental claims and ancillary claims within the claims system and maintain confidentiality of claims information.
  • You will provide the team with opportunities for professional development and prepare them for advancement through mentorship. Give particular focus on succession planning for the Specialist role and/or where single point of failure exist.
  • You will coach team members to achieve individual performance objectives.
  • You will develop and execute on action plans to address issues identified by internal and external audit of claims adjudication practices. Act as an audit point person.
  • You will assist Specialists to triage complex claims and plant setup issues. You will resolve escalated claim issues and act as a consultant to assist internal business partners to resolve plan set up issues.
  • You will identify the knowledge and skillsets required for each role.
  • You will partner with internal Auditor and L&D Specialist to develop training and resources to support the requirements of each role.
  • You will identify and propose changes to streamline processes and create efficiencies as demonstrated by improved metrics. Propose MPACS enhancements to increase productivity or percentage of "No Touch" claims.
  • You will monitor and adjust the daytoday operation of the claim system's "workflow" rules with objective to maintain service levels and claims turnaround time.

THIS IS YOU

  • Post Secondary Degree/Diploma in HR or related field.
  • Four years progressive experience in a relevant position.
  • Extensive knowledge of insurancerelated policies and legislation.
  • People management would be an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced and evolving business environment.
  • An aptitude for leading and coaching others.
  • Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent conflict resolution and customer service skills.
