    Description

    Job Title: Maintenance Worker at University Family Housing

    Company: The University

    Description:

    As a Maintenance Worker at University Family Housing, you will be responsible for performing various repair and maintenance tasks in multiple buildings of the University.

    Responsibilities:

    • Performing maintenance duties such as repairing equipment, fixtures, furniture, and appliances
    • General maintenance of lights, equipment, and building fixtures
    • Maintaining internal signage
    • Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing hardware and accessibility operators
    • Clearing snow and ice from entrance ways
    • Performing preventative maintenance and checking fire and safety equipment
    • Addressing health and safety concerns and following fire alarm protocols
    • Reporting damaged equipment, cleaning floors, and mopping
    • Liaising with supervisors, building occupants, and contractors
    • Responding to requests and maintaining inventory and records
    • Completing work orders and special projects

    Qualifications

    • Education: Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent; technical training is desirable
    • Experience: Three (3) years of related work experience; technical training may be substituted for experience
    • Other: Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, knowledge of building maintenance practices, ability to use hand and power tools, and familiarity with safety regulations. Must have effective communication skills and the ability to work independently

    Additional Information:

    • This is a contract position until the end of February 2025
    • The shift for this position is 3:00pm - 11:30pm
