    Description

    About the Role:

    The Facilities Maintenance Technician will focus on maintenance and repairs related to multiple buildings, grounds and equipment at the Brick Works site, in one or more areas such as plumbing, painting, and groundskeeping.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the facility and site are ready for guests, staff & tenants each day.
  • Review and complete daily entries into logs as required.
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks as assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager.
  • Complete minor maintenance repairs as assigned, including but not limited to minor drywall, painting, light bulbs, doors etc..
  • Perform daily walkthroughs of all exterior spaces, ensuring the areas are safe, clean, and ready for use.
  • Complete furniture setups to support events & programming.
  • Proactively communicate with the Facilities Maintenance Manager on any system issues, both active and preventatively, to prevent service disruptions for vendors
  • Liaison with vendors and build/maintain positive relationships with all EBW vendors.
  • Complete tenant requests as required.
  • Provide support across departments as required.
  • Other duties as required.
  • Contribute to positive workplace culture and great internal communication.

    • You have the following qualifications:

  • 1 - 3 years' experience in Facilities Maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ability to use both manual and power tools.
  • Proficiency with computers, web-based applications and office software including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Valid class 'G' driver's license an asset
  • Working at heights and areal work platform certification or willingness to acquire
  • Forklift certification or willingness to acquire.
  • First-aid/CPR certification an asset

    • Additional Information:

    Reporting Relationships:

  • Supervised by: Facilities Maintenance Manager

    • Working Conditions:

  • 40 hrs/week on site at Evergreen Brick Works in Toronto.
  • Schedule requires working rotating weekends (off every other weekend).
  • Working indoors and outdoors, in rain and other inclement weather conditions.
  • Evergreen Brick Works is in a flood plain of the Lower Don River and is prone to occasional flooding. Under these conditions, employees may be asked to work from home and/or participate in clean-up activities.
  • CSA approved Safety Shoes/Boots are required.

    • Physical Requirements:

  • Standing for extended periods of time
  • Lifting heavy objects on a regular basis

  • Full time, permanent
  • Target Hire Rate: $24.00/hour
