QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working in an Environmental Services capacity, preferably in a Healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of the use of proper body mechanics to meet the physical demands of the job, for prolonged standing, walking, bending, lifting, and pushing/pulling carts.
  • Knowledge and understanding of WHMIS
  • Knowledge and understanding of the PIDAC Environmental Cleaning best practices.
  • Working knowledge of computers and entering online data i.e. Incident reporting.
  • Knowledge of the requirements and provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexible, selfdirected and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
  • Evidence of effective customer service, organizational, interpersonal, judgment and decisionmaking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be available for all shifts including weekends, vacation replacement, sick time and paid holidays.
  • Consistent and regular attendance required.
  • Vaccines (COVID19 and others) are a new hire requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
