Summary:

The Legal Coordinator will provide legal administrative support to the Vice President, Senior Counsel, and their team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares and maintains a bringforward system, as well as providing appropriate reminders.
  • Under legal professional supervision, prepares legal documents and correspondence according to precedents and/or instructions (draft letters, revise draft documents, and prepare document comparisons).
  • Ensures all physical and electronic filing is organized and up to date on a regular basis.
  • Coordinates with crossfunctional teams in Canada and United States as required.
  • Other duties/projects as assigned by the Vice President, Senior Counsel

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a Legal Assistant or comparable role is required.
  • Successful completion of Legal Assistant and/or Law Clerk Diploma is considered an asset.
  • Expert level software skills (MS Office, etc.)
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure and with strong commitment to complete high quality work.
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing situations easily.
  • Ability to assess and reestablish priorities based on deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions with mínimal supervision, as well as part of a team.
