Agriculture Business Development Account Manager


Company Overview:

Deveron is an independent third-party agronomy company that specializes in providing precision agriculture analysis and insights to the production agricultural industry.

Deveron's objective is to increase the efficiency of collecting field scale data and analyzing multiple layers of information to generate valuable insights.

Deveron aims to build partnerships with other members of the agricultural industry to provide their services to a wider customer base.


Purpose of Role:

The Agriculture Business Development Account Manager is responsible for building and maintaining the network of affiliate partnerships that Deveron utilizes to penetrate the market.

The current network primarily covers Ontario and Quebec, with a small number of affiliates in the United

States. The goal of this position is to expand the network across Canada and potentially in the United

States. The role involves networking through industry conferences, social media interactions, digital marketing, and direct communication to attract new affiliates.

The Manager will inform affiliates about the value proposition of Deveron's deliverables and assist in developing a communication strategy for them to use with their customers.

Additionally, the Manager will gather the needs and wants of the affiliate network and communicate this information to the rest of the Deveron team.


Reporting:
The Affiliate Partnerships Manager reports directly to the Sales Manager and indirectly to the

Canadian and US Operations and Customer Success Directors. They collaborate with the Customer

Experience team to create new tools and improvements requested by affiliates.

The Manager communicates with the rest of the Deveron team to ensure that the deliverables purchased by network affiliate partners meet customer expectations.

As the network grows, the role may involve supervising and managing additional members of the sales/service group.


Skills Required and/or Encouraged:


  • Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively work with various personalities within the industry.
  • Active listening skills to understand clients' true needs and help them uncover those needs.
  • Ability to creatively position Deveron products to solve clients' pain points and create value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable with regular travel across Canada and the United States (minimum of 1 week per month).
  • Ability to forecast sales and meet budgets.
  • Knowledgeable about production agriculture (an asset).
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Experience in communicating the value of novel concepts or approaches to customers.
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.

Experience Required:


  • Post-secondary education with an Agricultural diploma or degree.
2. 5+ years of agricultural sales experience.


  • CCA designation or willingness to obtain one.
  • Valid driver's license.

Salary:
$60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
