Job Summary:

NAVBLUE is looking for a Product Manager, as part of our SAFe way of working.

In NAVBLUE the development activities are realized thanks to two Agile Release Trains (ART).

The successful execution of the ART is helped by three critical roles:


  • Release Train Engineer
  • Product Management
  • System Architect/engineering

As per SAFe framework deployed in NAVBLUE:

Product Management is responsible for defining and supporting the building of desirable, feasible, viable, and sustainable products that meet customer needs over the product-market lifecycle.

To do this, they collaborate with a wide range of people to identify and define customer needs, understand the Solution Context, and develop the Program Vision, Roadmap, and Features required to meet these needs.

Then, they support the Agile Release Trains (ARTs) in delivering value through the Program Kanban and Continuous Delivery Pipeline.

The Product Management function relies on several key roles like Business Owners, EPIC owners, Lean UX Designers, Product Owners, and Product Managers.

The primary responsibilities of product management fall into four main areas:

  • Meet business goals
  • Products and solutions must meet the economic business goals established by the portfolio


  • Get it built

  • Product Managers collaborate with Agile Release Trains (ARTs) and Solution Trains to build the required functionality
  • Get it off the shelf
  • Internally, Product Managers collaborate with IT to ensure solutions are deployed to internal customers and users; externally, Product Managers collaborate with an even larger set of business stakeholders to deliver products to the market


  • Leverage support

  • Product Managers ensure their offerings are supported and enhanced to create a continuous flow of value

NAVBLUE is looking for a Product Manager, responsible for materializing strategy around OCC Flight Planning and Sustainability solutions. The first task of this role is to complete the Performance Database Optimization EPIC, managed in partnership with Airbus.

Later the applicant will be in charge of the evolutions of Flight Planning capability towards the NAVBLUE ecosystem (cloud based solution) and develop sustainability across our Portfolio.


Responsibilities:

As a Product Manager in NAVBLUE, the applicant will:

  • Work with Business Management and Enterprise Architecture to define the content of the EPIC (Description, Lean business case, business outcomes, leading indicators ) and contribute to/understand the main principles of target architecture
  • Refine the EPIC into features, tune the MVP scope adequately
  • Contribute to the management of the backlog of features with other Product Managers (PM) and ART lead PMs
  • Support the Product Owners and more globally the ART to refine the features into user stories and implement them
  • Participate in acceptance of features (Definition of Done assessment)
  • Measure flow and outcomes related to features


As a Product Manager for OCC Flight Planning and Sustainability, the applicant will support Product Management activities related to NAVBLUE Strategic Objectives related to these domains.


Education:


  • Engineer or Master degree in software engineering or aeronautics

Experience:


  • Solid experience in Software engineering
  • Solid experience in Aviation industry, noticeably Flight Operations good knowledge of EFB solutions including Charts, OCC environment, flight ops engineering
  • Significant experience in OCC environment, Flight Planning, Aircraft performance demonstrated appetite for sustainability initiatives
  • Experience in SAFe
