Knox Presbyterian Church is a vibrant, Christian community church in the heart of Oakville. Knox is looking for a passionate and committed Children's Ministries Coordinator to help share the love of God with children in our church and community.

Overview:_
In this part-time role, reporting to the Faith Formation Cluster Coach, the Children's Ministries Coordinator will help to determine the vision, structure and coordination necessary to develop, support and administer a holistic program of spiritual development for the children.

Key Roles, Responsibilities and Tasks:_

Curriculum Development:
- Oversee and give primary leadership to KnoxOakville's Children's Ministry in a way that aligns with the church's goals and values
- Work with the Cluster Coach for Faith Formation and the clergy in curriculum development
- Identify and implement age appropriate curriculum to support the children's spiritual development

- Inside the Sanctuary

- Outside of the Sanctuary
- "Cozy Corners"
- Setup, stocking, tidying
Special Services/Annual Events:
- Oversight of VBS implementation
- Curriculum selection, and resource ordering etc.
- Establishing and collaborating with a team of volunteers to coordinate and implement the program for 1 week in the summer
- Collaborate with clergy and worship team for special services as required (e.g. Christmas eve, Easter, Pentecost, services with Sacraments, etc.)
Administrative:
- Attend and participate in weekly staff meetings (Tuesday mornings)
- Volunteer management and coordination as it relates to children's ministries (leading with care, volunteer schedule, training etc.)
- Communicate with families, staff, congregation (including Sunday morning announcements, newsletter, welcome/we miss you cards, birthday cards)
- Collaborate with Cluster Coach for Faith Formation regarding regular reports to Session, and annual budget planning
- Participate in professional development
- Work with volunteers
- Stay current with trends about Children's Ministry
- Participate in Oakville Child and Youth Network Committee (OCYNC)
Qualifications & Skills:_
- A follower of Christ.
- A passion for ministry with children and families and an understanding of the importance of this ministry within the church.
- 34 years' experience with Sunday School, or child education; experience teaching children is a must
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organizational and problemsolving abilities.
- Collaborative; able to work well with other leaders and volunteers.
- Flexible, curious, dependable and collaborative perspective.
- Active involvement in church life within the Knox Oakville worshiping community.
- Willingness to relocate or commute to Oakville.
- Completed Security Clearance (police records check), consistent with the denomination's Leading With Care policy.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development (to be financed through the Faith Formation budget).
Remuneration:_
- $25 an hour for up to 20 hours per week.
- Vacation pay per the Ontario ESA minimum of 4% (6% once reach five years of service)
