***: Reporting to the Director of Risk Management, Quality, and Privacy, the Quality Manager is responsible for overseeing the hospital's Quality Program activities. The Quality Manager will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and overseeing quality management tools and systems to optimize patient care outcomes and enhance operational efficiency. This role will oversee and support the Lean Management Transformation Project, and contribute to the development of a new quality program structure, while managing day-to-day operational activities such as Accreditation readiness, Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) development and implementation, patient safety initiatives, and various other quality improvement initiatives.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Leads the development and implementation of the Quality and Patient Safety Plan
  • Oversees and support various quality improvement initiatives
  • Champions a a Safe and Just Culture
  • Provides staff education and training in quality
  • Establishes performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor key quality indicators, analyzes data trends, and generates reports for senior management and regulatory agencies
  • Stays abreast of current issues and practices in quality, and patient safety
  • Manages and maintains quality and patient safety policy and procedures
  • Assists teams with interpretation, analysis and presentation of data
  • Prepares reports, briefing notes and presentations for all levels of the organization
  • Oversees, manages, and develops the role of the Quality and Patient Safety Specialists
  • Oversee the implementation of quality assurance processes, including peer review activities, root cause analysis, and incident reporting system
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives and to identify opportunities for further enhancement to achieve organizational goals
  • Partners in the development, management and analysis of the operational and capital budget
  • Coordinates and facilitates organizational quality initiatives and coordinates the Accreditation Canada process
  • Oversees the investigation of serious safety events
  • Oversees the incident reporting system and facilitates the development of improved systems for tracking, analysis, evaluating, reporting and communicating patterns of care and clinical outcomes with a focus on system/process improvement
  • Builds capacity for Quality improvement
  • Facilitate the management of the hospital and program quality score cards
  • Performs other duties as required

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:


  • Master's degree (or inprogress) in Health Administration, Business, or Engineering
  • Certification in healthcare quality management (e.g., Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality
  • CPHQ) is highly desirable
  • Lean Six Sigma certification required (green or black belt)
  • Completion of data analytics training, an asset
  • PMP certification is an asset

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:


  • 10 years experience in relevant field required
  • 5 years of Leadership experience (formal and informal experience will be considered)
  • Experience managing a highperforming team
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in driving organizational change, fostering a culture of quality and safety, and inspiring teamwork among staff members
  • Expertise with using Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Proficiency in data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement
  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Group facilitation skills
  • Organized and able to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Deep Uunderstanding of systems, systems analysis techniques, values analysis process and continuous improvement principles and tools
  • Superior decisionmaking and organizational skills
  • Ability to provide leadership, support and critical analysis in stressful, highly complex clinical and often emotional situations
  • Able to build relationships internally and externally
  • Up to date knowledge of current accreditation and regulatory landscape
