Your Role in a Nutshell


Reporting to the Director of Finance & Operations andworking closely with a group of diverse senior leaders, you will provide hands on leadership and guidance pertaining to all financial operations and activities.

You will manage financial reporting, financial budgeting and planning processes in all key business functions and play a leading role in ensuring the company meets it's short
- and long-term targets. As a finance leader, you will oversee activities of the controller, provide guidance on management reports, budgets, track divisional sales, marketing, and operational budgets with analysis of actual results versus budget/forecast to aid decision making. The role provides hands-on supervision and involvement in the month end financial close process and requires written and verbal communication ofresults to business partners and management.


Scope of Duties

  • Monitor customer account details for nonpayments, delayed payments and other irregularities
  • Ensure payments are received in a timely manner
  • Full cycle accounts payable prepare invoices for approval, enter and record invoices in QuickBooks, process and issue cheques for payment
  • Prepare monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Manage and comply with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Lead the corporate financial reporting process, including preparation of consolidated financial statements, managing the internal support for external auditors & preparing monthly management reports to the board and other stakeholders
  • Serve as finance business partner to department leads, supporting them in strategic and financial planning discussions including forecast and budget.
  • Analyze trends, results, and forecast to actual variances and communicate insights to leadership, including identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Proactively provide timely, insightful, actionable, and accurate, financial reporting, analysis, and recommendations to key areas in the organization.
  • Support and review payroll and benefits administration
  • Prepare monthly management reports to be reviewed by executive team.
  • Support the business by performing ROI analysis on investment.
  • Collaborate with accounting team during the monthly close process to ensure accuracy of financials and integration of data.
  • Recommend process improvements and ensure that the enhanced process meets Internal and external Audit controls.
  • Perform adhoc analysis to support the growth of the business and identify opportunities for efficiency and improvement.

What You Offer

  • Undergraduate degree in finance and/or accounting.
  • CMA or CPA is a bonus
  • 4+ years' experience as a senior accountant, financialcontroller, FP&Aor similar roles (strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, private equity, consulting, corporate development).
