We are hiring a Gluing Machine Operator at our Mississauga location.Responsibilities:
- Ensure line clearances are performed between jobs
- Review docket information to ensure proper job is being glued
- Record waste counts, production counts and any pertinent comments
- Complete Gluing Quality Checklist
- Obtain approved sample from docket and perform machine makeready
- Verify case label information is correct
- Set Quality Assurance Scanner and test to verify scanner is functioning properly
- Set case counter and manually count the first case to verify counter is functioning properly
- Maximize production speeds while maintaining quality
- Perform regular inspections throughout the run to ensure glued carton meet acceptable quality standards
- Verify glue guns and glue pot is functioning properly throughout the run
- Maintain accurate carton counts
- Issue corrugate at the end of each run
- Assist in the training of fellow Gluers
- Maintain and adhere to safety standards and perform housekeeping duties
- Perform scheduled maintenance when required
- Adherence to GMP's and SOP's to promote product safety, food safety and quality
Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of gluing process and machines
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must be willing to work a 3shift operation
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
- Ability to supervise and direct crew
- Good organization skills and leadership skills
- Basic computer skills
