We are hiring a Die-Cutting Operator at our Guelph location. The Die-Cutting Operator is the "Chargehand" on the machine.Responsibilities:
- Review docket information to ensure proper job is produced
- Complete Diecutting Quality Checklist
- Review Size and Style samples to what is on press
- Perform press makereadies to meet production requirements
- Setup feed and feed table to ensure smooth delivery into press
- Set press pressure to ensure cutting, creasing and scoring meet the required quality standards as per the approved sample. Retrieve and prepare loads for press. Airing loads when required
- Set double sheet detector to prevent double sheets from passing through the press
- Check sheet from every load for registration, offcutting, opening feature functions and cracking. Leave checked cartons for each die position on the top of every load
- Maintain accurate counts
- Troubleshoot press to help reduce downtime & inefficiencies
- Assist in the training of fellow diecutting employees
- Maintain & adhere to safety standards (including P.P.E. requirements)
- Perform weekly scheduled maintenance & record in Maintenance Log Book
- Complete Work Order Forms and forward to Maintenance Manager when work is required on the die cutters
- Perform other duties as required by the Production Manager or Management
Qualifications:
- Technical knowledge of the Die-Cutting process and machines
- Mechanical aptitude
- Must be willing to work a 3shift operation
- Good oral and written communications skills
- Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
- Ability to supervise and direct crew
- Good organization skills and leadership skills
- Basic computer skills
