Description
Companion Construction is a growing construction management, general contracting, and project management firm. We specialize in commercial new construction, mass timber buildings, and tenant improvements. We also work in the health care sector doing build outs and improvements.


We are looking for a well-rounded carpenter to work full time on a variety of projects, supporting the site supervision team.

Our carpenters maintain the progress of both Companion Construction and sub-trades by completing any required carpentry and labor tasks. Our site locations are spread across Metro Vancouver so site locations may vary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform all onsite carpentry tasks, such as backing, blocking, formwork, and framing
  • Read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Finish Carpentry & Door Installations
  • Site Prep & Hoarding Installations
  • Wood Framing and Steel Stud Framing
  • Light/Minor Demolition
  • Supervise small labor crews as assigned.
  • General construction maintenance
  • All other duties assigned by Project Managers/Site Superintendents
General Qualifications

  • Red Seal or Apprentice L
  • Physically capable of meeting the job demands, including working on your feet for 8 hours or more, lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs, and carrying out physical tasks over extended periods
  • Valid Driver's License and clean drivers abstract
  • Able to work with mínimal supervision and is a selfstarter
  • Knowledge of general construction duties pump set up, use of tools, personal protection, etc.
  • Able to communicate effectively with subtrades
  • Able to work outdoors in inclement weather
Assets

  • Infection Control Training
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Experience with Procore
  • Microsoft Office

Compensation:
$40-$50 Per Hour dependent on experience

Vacation: 2 Weeks Per Year
