    Description

    We are looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Engineering Manager with a solid background in automation testing using JavaScript, who has led successful QA teams for over a decade. In this role, you will oversee the entire QA process to ensure top-notch web and desktop applications delivery. Your expertise in test automation, leadership, and strategic planning is crucial for maintaining and enhancing our quality standards. Your in-depth knowledge of JavaScript and effective communication skills will be key in upholding our high benchmarks.

    Responsibilities:

    • Lead and carry out the creation, upkeep, and execution of automated test scripts for web and desktop applications utilizing JavaScript and testing frameworks like Selenium and Puppeteer.
    • Collaborate with development and QA teams to grasp project requirements and application functionalities.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior QA engineers on best practices related to test automation and JavaScript programming.
    • Develop and manage automated test suites to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
    • Analyze test outcomes, pinpoint defects, and communicate effectively with development teams to expedite issue resolution.
    • Establish and sustain continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) procedures for automated testing.
    • Participate in test planning, strategy formation, and test case creation.
    • Conduct regression testing and ensure that test environments are suitably configured for diverse scenarios.
    • Keep abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends in test automation and apply them to enhance our processes.
    • Contribute to enhancing the overall QA process by focusing on strategy, documentation, and tools.


    Requirements

    • This is a remote position for candidates residing in Vancouver.
    • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
    • Over 10 years of practical experience in automation testing of web and desktop applications using JavaScript, with at least 5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in managing sizeable QA teams, including remote and distributed units.
    • Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
    • Proficient in JavaScript with a strong programming background.
    • Expertise in web and desktop application testing, including GUI testing and browser automation.
    • Thorough understanding of testing frameworks and tools.
    • Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and test management utilities.
    • Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical mindset.
    • Capable of working efficiently within a team and setting a leadership example.
    • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies is advantageous.
    • Pertinent certifications such as ISTQB are beneficial.
