Description
The successful candidate will report to the Superintendent, Special Education Services.The Itinerant Teacher for Deaf/Hard of Hearing will be responsible for assessment and support of students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, collaboration with the Educational Audiologist to support implementation and use of equipment and technology, supporting educators and paraprofessionals in understanding and accommodating needs of students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing to promote student success and well-being.
Knowledge of Alternative Curricula for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, i.e. language development, articulation, and auditory skills developmentDemonstrated successful classroom teaching experience, an asset
Successful experience when dealing with students with multiple exceptionalities, an asset
Certification as a Certified Language and Speech Learning Specialist Auditory Verbal Educator (Cert. LSLS AVed), an asset
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is an asset
QUALIFICATIONS:
