- Partner with hiring managers and HR to develop effective talent acquisition strategies and serve as a strategic thought partner throughout the recruitment process.
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes for our Sales, Manufacturing, Field Operations, Research, Development & Engineering, and Functional teams across Canada.
- Screen talent pools and confirm basic qualifications, skill set, interest, job fit, salary requirements, career pipeline and work authorization to identify qualified candidates.
- Engage with HR and business leaders to understand hiring trends, anticipate hiring needs and offer a proactive approach to the recruitment process.
- Conduct regular and frequent communication with hiring managers to provide updates, respond to questions and concerns, advise on recruitment approaches and processes, and share insights and strategic perspective.
- Advise managers on what a great candidate looks like and ways of engaging talent to further build relationships.
- Develop strategic search strategies highlighting recruitment approach, timelines, candidate profiles, etc. to maintain a passive talent pipeline.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to create, refine, and develop job descriptions and job postings to attract top talent.
- Manage the campus recruitment initiatives for the region and partner with HR in the region to understand internship needs.
- Partner with other Talent Acquisition team members to coordinate strategies and activities to create efficiencies and collaborate on marketplace talent opportunities.
- Complete all pre-employment activities including background checks to ensure a smooth start and adherence to the contingency process.
- Identify and support initiatives that drive hiring efficiencies and improvements to our recruitment efforts.
- Lead and assist with other recruitment tasks and related projects.
- Promote the ChampionX brand to build and maintain a reputation as an Employer of Choice.
- 4 years of experience in recruiting or Human Resources with a focus on talent management.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
- Immigration sponsorship and relocation are not available for this position.
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field.
- Ability to demonstrate a successful record of using rapport-building skills (listening, probing, persuading) in previous recruiting assignments.
- Ability to effectively use interviewing techniques to evaluate candidate's qualifications in relation to the position requirements to determine a successful match and provide accurate, actionable feedback to hiring managers.
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal legislation and it's application to Talent Acquisition.
- Experience recruiting in multiple industries including manufacturing and sales.
- Strong interpersonal and relatability skills to help in managing diverse personalities.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build productive relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate in working with multiple partners and key stakeholders.
- Strong sense of urgency with a proactive and collaborative attitude.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Knowledge and experience using Workday.

ChampionX has an immediate need for a 6-month temporary Talent Acquisition Specialist to support professional recruiting activities across our Canadian Production Chemicals business. This role will be based out of our downtown office in Calgary, AB and is open to hybrid work .
