Job Summary

This is a 14 month contract opportunity.

Reporting to a Strategic Communications Manager, the Strategic Communications Advisor works collaboratively with the broader Marketing and Communications (M&C) team to help deliver effective communication campaigns with measurable outcomes, while ensuring alignment with HOOPP's Strategic Plan and upholding our core values.

This individual will facilitate, and support marketing and communications deliverables focused on helping us inform, educate and engage HOOPP's members and employers.


What you will do:

  • Support the Strategic Communications team with the daytoday coordination and execution of communication campaigns and tactics with a focus on communication materials for HOOPP's employers
  • Produce various communication materials for HOOPP's external, and occasionally internal, communications channels. This could include researching, writing, editing articles, letters, online tools, presentations, newsletters, brochures, etc. Also, collaborate and work closely with other functions within M&C including content writing, creative and digital teams to deliver communications materials, as needed
  • Develop communication materials that follow HOOPP's brand guidelines
  • Build an understanding of the internal partner groups' needs and objectives
  • Ensure communications calendars and project plans are up to date
  • Assist with planning and scheduling marketing and communication work within an Agile environment
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal stakeholders and M&C team members
  • Help execute communication tactics that ensure audiences are provided with timely and accurate information
  • Work with the data analytics team to develop insightful reports on the effectiveness of the marketing and communications tactics
  • Coordinate services provided by external consultants and vendors for communicationsrelated programs

What you bring:

  • University degree or college diploma in journalism, communications or public relations, or equivalent training, education and/or experience
  • Pension industry knowledge
  • 35 years of experience in communications roles
  • Excellent writing, editing, proofreading and attention to detail; ability to translate technical concepts into audiencecentric plain language
  • Proven ability to express ideas in a clear, wellorganized manner
  • A proactive approach to problem solving
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize workload and manage competing priorities to meet deadlines
  • Flexible approach to work and positive attitude
  • Proven vendor and project management skills
