CAREER COACH

FACULTY OF ACADEMIC STRATEGY & INTEGRATION


This position supports mid-career participants to meet their career goals through career coaching, curriculum development, workshop facilitation, and the creation of Work-Integrated Learning experiences to connect participants to the new careers.

The Career Connect Career Coach moves the WILCEC vision of maximizing student empowerment through experience and education forward.

This is a part time (0.5FTE) term position until June 28, 2024.


HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Support participants in their career journey through career coaching on resume writing, interview preparation, goal setting, job searching, etc.
  • Create opportunities for participants to connect their academic experience to the real world through Work-Integrated Learning experiences.
  • Engage all stakeholders: participants, faculty, and employerpartners to develop mutually beneficial learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with WILCEC Leadership to start small and think big to find ways forward.
  • Develop participants' workforce relevance through event planning, presentations, workshops, etc.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • A diploma or degree in education, human resources, management, or relevant field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3+ years of experience in postsecondary environment or hiring and recruiting environment with knowledge of employability skills and career development techniques and strategies.
  • A willingness to support your team, employerpartners, and other stakeholders.
  • Previous experience working with diverse students, different demographics, and adult learners, with a focus on providing individualized support for each student.
  • Previous experience teaching or creating and delivering workshops and presentations.

  • Bold curiosity and a willingness to learn new technology with previous experience with ESAT, Moodle, Articulate 360, Orbis, and Peoplesoft preferred.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to employerpartner sites around Edmonton.

SALARY:
$1,023.5-$1,330 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a part-time term position until June 28, 2024 with possibility of extension. This position is for 0.5 FTE, 18 hours per week with immediate access to our benefit program (prorated to your FTE).
